Just to show how ridiculous the recipes are the humans are using for applesauce and apple butter, I posted them below.
Applesauce
12 large apples
1/4 C lemon juice
1 1/2 C sugar (my humans used much less & it supposedly tastes okay)
Peel, core and cut apples into 1 1/2 inch chunks. Toss in a bowl with lemon juice and sugar.
Put in slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours. Stir until desired consistency. Makes 8 cups.
Apple Butter
1 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C honey
1/4 C apple cider
1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp mace
10 medium apples (peeled, cored and cut in to large chunks) ~2 1/2 pounds
Put all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook for 10 hours or until apples are tender.
Place a large fine-mesh sieve over a bowl; spoon 1/3 of apple mixture into sieve. Press mixture through sieve using the back of a spoon or ladle. Discard pulp. Repeat for rest of mixture. Return mixture to slow cooker.
Cook, uncovered, on high for 1 1/2 hours or until mixture is thick, stirring occasionally. Spoon into a bowl; cover and chill up to 1 week. Makes 16 servings (serving size: 1/4 C). My humans have not tried this on yet, but plan to try it soon.

Hey thanks Invader! I need to do something with our apples. Applebutter? Is that good? What do you put it on, toast, or do you need some sort of thicker bread or something?
You put it on toast or what ever. Its kind of a syrup/jelly...but its good.
