Sundays with the Minnesota Twins

This past summer we went to a couple of Twins games. We brought Rylyn to one, as watching a baseball game is one thing that he actually sits through and watches. What we did not know when we brought him to the Sunday game is that on Sunday games kids are invited to run the bases after the game. Chase and I went down on the field with him. We all went down under the new stadium, walked around the outside of the field, and then Rylyn ran the bases. I walked along with him to keep him going. The sacrifices we make :)
So, if you have kids and want to go to a Twins game, make it a Sunday!

Homemade Pasta

We bought a pasta maker a while back and decided that now was the time to try it out. We chose to buy a hand-cranking pasta roller and cutter as it is about a quarter of the price of one that you can connect to your stand mixer. It also comes with a pasta cutter that we used to cut up the scraps of dough to make fetticini and spagetti. We then bought a ravioli cutter to help for easier forming of the ravioli.

Using three different dough recipes we made 70 raviolis and a huge lasagna. Asparagus ravioli, mushroom ravioli, and spinach & cheese ravioli were the kinds that we made and froze. Of course, we did test a few. The lasagna noodles were made today for homemade lasagna for our New Year's dinner. The recipe we used for these noodles turned out the best, or at least that's what we thought. This recipe is from Food Network and they even have a video of making the pasta. http://www.foodnetwork.com/videos/homemade-pasta/63844.html

Definetly worth trying out!

Wrapping Paper Paper Tube Wars

The Invader was initiated into the battles of Christmas time - wrapping paper paper tube wars. Both swords and num-chucks (not sure how this is spelled) were presented in battle.

Camels Spit

The Invader chose to be a camel in the Sunday School program this year. All went well until he asked what noise camels make and he was told they spit.......the Invader then proceeded to spit as he walked through the church. Thankfully, he doesn't know how to spit well and nothing came out.

As close as we will ever get to a Christmas letter...

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but its been a little busy around here. To catch you up here is a little bit about what we've been doing. (P.S. this also counts as our Christmas letter!)

Dad has been busy with lots of work. He makes time for hunting and fishing whenever he can. Right now he is working on his icehouse with the Invader. The two are planning to do as much ice fishing as possible this winter

Mom is now teaching at the Cherry School and will finish her master's degree from Hamline this May. She is also working on her Reading Specialist Licencse from Hamline, which also means she is a computer hog!

The Invader, aka Rylyn, loves reading, tools, and tractors - not necessarily in that order. His other past time is bossing me around. The Invader has started Early Childhood classes in Cherry and loves going to school. Right now his big focus is making sure he is on Santa's nice list.

I, Rosco, am still focused on being outside as much as possible. Crayfish hunting was a new sport I started at the cabin this summer, which I will have to post more about later. Dad and I fit in a little time for bird hunting this fall, but didn't get any birds.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Rosco

P.S. My New Year's resolution is to blog more

The Invader's Year in Review
